Area Summer Camps?
Permalink Closed

I'm looking for a safe & fun environment for my 6, 5 & 3 year-old during this summer. Can anyone recommend a good summer camp in the Hunterdon County area? Playing outside, crafts, & even swimming are some of their interests.

Whitehouse Preparatory School has a summer camp called Camp Discovery.  The camp is for children 3 to 7 and is now accepting applications.  The children will be swimming, dancing, acting, doing crafts. playing games and having lots of fun!  The school is in Whitehouse Station.

Hi, I would highly recommend the Acorn Montessori Summer Camp on Rt 31 in Lebanon.  They have a great program for 3-6 year olds!  My kids both love it.  My oldest (who'll be 6 this year) has been going for 3 years and my youngest (4) went last year for the first time.

This year's theme is all about "Great Explorations"-- each week has a different focus from dinosaurs to sea life to theater, etc.  They do a great job of combining educational projects (e.g. build a pyramid and learn about the Egyptians) with arts & crafts, outdoor play, and guest presenters.  You can go for specific weeks or the whole summer.  Camp is run by 1-2 of the teachers with 10+ years of experience so you know they are in good, safe, responsible hands.

It's been a great experience for my kids - definitely worth looking into. (908) 730-8986.

The Children's Garden of Learning in Neshanic Station runs a summer camp from June 12th, three days per week, until Aug. 2nd. They have a website if you want to check out fees or get more info. My kids all went there and they loved it. A small individualized program that works crafts, science and other skills into their summer fun.

Secret Garden Montessori in Frenchtown is having a summer camp this year for children ages 2 through 10. The program is going to be more recreational than academic but still very educational as it will be rooted in Montessori philosophy. There will be nature studies, tons of outdoor fun including gardening and some performing arts stuff too. They are offering flexible scheduling, meaning you can sign up for only the weeks you want. You can send your kids a few times a week or every day and the day can be as short as 8:30-12:00 or as long as 7:00-5:30 pm. It's really affordable too!
