Can anyone recommend a pediatrician in the Clinton/flemington area? I had myself and kids going to a family practice and things have changed there recently and I am no longer a fan...so I am looking for a new pediatrician....trying to find someone that is not part of hunterdon pediatrics, I have heard mixed reviews, little too big for me...thanks!

I do go to hunterdon pediatrics, however i can see the same dr about 80% of the time and do go to one of their smaller office locations. The dr i always see is Dr. Clarin, he's really approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. He's been my nephew's dr for nearly 15 years and he's been our pediatician now for 2 years.

Welcome to the area! We moved here, from out of state (11 years ago), when the kids were 7 and 9. We were fortunate to find Hunterdon Pediatrics and have been with them this entire time. They have offices in Clinton, Flemington and Whitehouse Station. The Flemington office has later, longer hours. Their office staff, nurses and doctors are outstanding: consistently positive in a number of areas including communication, accuracy, scheduling, expertise, follow-up. We have a 'main' doctor but no worries, all of the docs are exceptional. They are affiliated with Hunterdon Healthcare which includes Hunterdon Medical Center (nothing but positive experiences for us, including a few surgeries and more than our fair share of E/R visits). FYI Hunterdon Healthcare system includes specialists in a wide variety of areas. Here's the link which includes the Pediatric contact info:  www.hunterdonhealthcare.org/practices/pediatrics/contact.asp

I felt the same way about Hunterdon Peds, but eventually joined them becasue of multiple recommendations. I use Dr. Clarin in the Reading Ridge office and love him! I've rarely had to see anyone else, but when I have, I've loved each dr. I've met. Dr. Clarin is very thorough! He even found an issue that my previous pediatrician never mentioned for 13 years of my son's life! I was hooked on Dr. Clarin for sure then!

I do not recommend Hunterdon Pediatrics for many reasons
My child was misdiagnosed, it took me 2 days to get the doctor to talk to me about the diagnosis and when she did the method of testing that she said determined this illness had NEVER been performed on my child (he did not have the illness just heat rash!!) A friend took her child for an entire year of visits to try and determine what was wrong with him, she went to another practice and he was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes right away!
I also felt like I could not ask the doctors questions because they did not have the time to answer, the next number was waiting for them!
I went running to Somerset Pediatrics!!! I like all of the doctors there, but Dr. Fisher is my top pick!
I have to fair and say, I have talked to others that do like Hunterdon Pediatrics, but do not care for Dr. Rushton. I left there 5 years ago so maybe things have changed, but general consensus is avoid Dr. Rushton!

I love Dr. Clarin at Hunterdon Pediatrics. Hate Rushton, he's a conceited clown, who misdiagnosed my child a couple of times ( had to see him on emergency visits).

I absolutely hate Hunterdon Peds. Misdiagnosis, and the rude reception staff, wait time, and length of time an appointment can be scheduled from the time you call, are a few of the things that made me leave. The main thing had to do with the strict policy on the vaccine schedule. We have a child who had a bad reaction to a DTaP, and we are not as aggressive as the current AAP schedule mandates. They have unreasonable views, and push hard on that very sensitive issue. We see Dr. Sam Kim in Phillipsburg, who is very considerate of parental choices and altered vaccine schedules for parents who want to slow down a bit on that aggressiveness. My son's vaccine/ encephalopathy has led to a permanant disability, so we dont waiver on our position, either. We use a cautious approach, in which Hunterdon Peds is very much against. Dont like them, at all.
